The below FBI Training entitled: Responding to and Investigating Bomb Threats and Swatting Hoaxes Training is being forwarded by the Counter Terrorism Center (CTC) for your information and awareness.


As always, it is imperative that law enforcement continue to remain alert for any suspicious activities that may indicate a possible threat to public safety. Any suspicious activities should be reported to the Counter Terrorism Center via the New York State Terrorism Tips Line at 1-866-SAFE-NYS (1-866-723-3697).

This course, offered by FBI Boston JTTF Supervisor Brian LeBlanc in collaboration with Massachusetts State Police Lieutenant John Strazzullo, will provide attendees an overview of the realities of bomb threats and swatting hoaxes, and include a detailed review of statistics and current trends seen across the country. The training will also cover the characteristics of hoax calls, law enforcement best practices for assessment and response, and the decision-making process for evacuation or sheltering in place.
