School Threat Assessment Response Team
The purpose of the School Threat assessment Response team is to assist with county level support and threat mitigation strategies to school districts who have identified a "Person-of-concern," that is, a person whose behaviors indicate a possible plan for targeted violence at the school.
The STAR team will be comprised of a variety of county level agencies with relevant areas of expertise.
The team will respond upon request from a district and ensure that all available resources help with the prevention of violence at schools and assist with healthy outcomes for these "persons-of-concern."
The New York State Sheriffs’ association will assist you in the formation and implementation of this program.
